Creekside Residential Living Services
Creekside Residential is a key element in The Leaves' determination to broaden its mission and assist greater numbers of students of Christian Science to successfully deal with the wider variety of challenges confronting them today. It is available to help meet the needs of Christian Scientists’ to continue their demonstration of home in a sheltered, structured environment, with services and activities that would:

Encourage, stimulate and support their quest to continue their study and practice of Christian Science so as to challenge and overcome many aspects of the so-called aging process through spiritual growth, regeneration and healing.

Promote normalcy, filled with engaged interest, vigorous and purposeful activity in an atmosphere free of medical intrusion.

Be safe, attractive, comfortable and affordable and provide freedom from many of the routine cares involved in maintaining homes completely on their own.
The following amenities are included in the monthly charges for The Leaves' Creekside Residential Living Program

Gated Christian Science community on 8.5 landscaped acres

Private suites, studios or single rooms located on one-story West Wing of The Leaves' main building

Private patios and direct access to grounds from each living unit

Three restaurant-quality meals per day plus snacks

All utilities (gas, electric, water, sewage, in-room phone, cable TV)

Weekly housekeeping service

Weekly linen and personal laundry service

Maintenance services on call

Planned activities related to Christian Science, educational and cultural affairs and events at The Leaves and in and around the Dallas/Ft. Worth metropolitan area

Assistance with daily activities from residential staff

Christian Science nurse oversight; all residences connected to call system at the nurses station

Fully stocked Christian Science Reading Room in our Great Room

Activities
A vigorous program of activities - related to Christian Science, to cultural and educational events, and some just for fun - is at the core of The Leaves' residential program. Some activities take place at the facility; others out in the Dallas/Ft. Worth community. While these activities are for residents, their families, friends, and neighbors, the Christian Science community is always invited to participate. Some activities include:

Criteria for Residency
-
Earnest students of Christian Science who demonstrate active branch Church participation, consistent attendance and a desire to pursue spiritually progressive living.

Willingness to overcome aging beliefs and continue engaged, normal daily activity within a community setting.

Mobility in walking, turning and pivoting (use of mobility aids acceptable.)
-
Adequate vision and hearing for fire safety purposes is required (hearing aids acceptable.)
-
Does not require regular oversight of a Christian Science Nurse.

Daily treatment from a Christian Science Practitioner upon staff recommendation.
-
Meets our other admission requirements.

A two-week trial visit, starting on a Monday, is required before acceptance to residency. (Cost of trial visit: $60 per day, includes meals)
