Healed of injured heel

A month before our daughter’s wedding two years ago, my heel was in great pain. I called a Christian Science practitioner who gave me encouragement, citations and articles. I studied these and also researched citations about foot, feet, foundation, heel, path, walking. Before the wedding I prayed for strength to be able to be on my feet all day and walk down the aisle. The hymn “I walk with Love along the way” (CS Hymn 139) helped but the pain was intense. A year later was our son’s wedding. I was still in great pain every day but expecting healing.

At work, when no one was around I’d often wheel my chair over to the copier so I didn’t have to walk. Yet I knew healing was possible and kept praying and studying. The healing of the lame man at the pool of Bethesda was a source of inspiration, especially when Jesus told him “behold, thou art MADE whole:” (John 5:2-14). Me too! I knew this situation was a lie about me, especially when the pain would occasionally shift over to the other heel. I kept concentrating on supporting other’s needs, knowing my needs would be met.

Next, an opportunity to prepare for a new role at work came about. It was something I longed to do. It also involved being active on my feet all day. I’d told no one about the pain. Was it okay to do this, while I was in pain? Yes (Mis. 71:1-10). Christian Science Nursing Arts Level 1 training here at The Leaves was so inspiring. Next, I traveled to Boston for CSNA Level 2 training. I realized it was God propelling me forward. A few months ago, the healing gently came. I am so grateful, knowing that I have always been a “whole soled” woman!
